Zomato boy arrives to collect order with his daughter in his lap goes viral, Starbucks shares the story

There are many people around the world who struggle so much to survive that knowing about them makes our own problems seem less. Recently, the story of one such person went viral, which will make anyone emotional after reading it. Actually, Devendra Mehra, the store manager of Starbucks in Khan Market, Delhi, shared it on LinkedIn. It had a picture of a Zomato delivery boy who had come to pick up an order from the outlet. But the man had a little girl in his lap whom he was taking with him to work.

Along with the picture in the post, Mehra wrote- ‘Today, a Zomato delivery boy came to our store Starbucks Khan Market, New Delhi to take an order. He touched our hearts. Despite all the troubles at home, he is working hard while taking care of his 2-year-old little daughter at work. He is a single parent and raises his daughter alone. It was really inspiring to see his dedication and love for his daughter.’

He further wrote- ‘In the hope of bringing a little smile to his face, we fed him a little treat from Babyccino. It reminded us of the strength and resilience of the human spirit even in difficult times. We wish him and his daughter all the best, and we are grateful for the little moments that remind us of the kindness and empathy that keeps us all connected. The delivery agent’s name is Sonu.’

Zomato replied to Mehra’s post and thanked him for sharing Sonu’s heart-touching story besides praising the delivery agent for his commitment to work.

Many social media users also praised the Zomato delivery agent’s commitment to his work and his role as a loving father. One wrote, ‘His story is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the lengths parents can go to to care for their children. It’s heartening to see businesses like Starbucks recognising and supporting people who excel not just in their jobs but in life as well.’ A LinkedIn user also said that he would love to raise funds for Sonu’s daughter’s education.
