Youth Congress’s violent protest in Bhopal: Workers came out to surround CM House, police used water cannon

Youth Congress today announced to gherao the Chief Minister’s residence in Bhopal against the nursing recruitment scam, irregularities in Youth Congress examination, paper leak, unemployment and inflation. There was a lot of anger among Congress workers regarding this protest. Congress says that all these issues highlight the corruption prevailing in the state and the failure of the government.

On Friday afternoon, a large number of Congress leaders and workers gathered at Roshanpura crossing and started moving towards the CM House. The police had put up barricades at various places to stop the protesters, but the angry workers tried to break the barricades and move ahead. The police used water cannons to control the situation.

Many senior leaders including Youth Congress national president Srinivas BV, Madhya Pradesh Congress president Jitu Patwari, Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar, former Union minister Arun Yadav, and Youth Congress state president Mitendra Darshan Singh Yadav participated in the protest.

Earlier, Jitu Patwari launched a scathing attack on the government and said, “This government is not the government of Mohan Yadav and BJP, but the government of mafias.” He alleged that unemployment and inflation are increasing due to the policies of the government, and new cases of corruption are coming to light, due to which the patience of the public is breaking.

Mitendra Darshan Singh said that Youth Congress had started the ‘Kya Hua Tera Vaada’ campaign two months ago, in which about four and a half lakh youth have written postcards and told their problems. Today these postcards will be handed over to Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. This is the fourth big demonstration of Congress in the last eight days, due to which pressure is increasing on the state government.

In view of the demonstration, the administration has made strict security arrangements so that any untoward incident can be prevented. The police is keeping a close watch on the situation.
