“You are not the protector of the speaker’s rights”, Amit Shah said this while standing in Lok Sabha on which allegation of Akhilesh

The Waqf Amendment Bill 2024 has been introduced in the Lok Sabha. There is a fierce debate on this. Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju has introduced the Waqf Amendment Bill 2024 in the Lok Sabha. Congress has lodged a strong objection to this. Samajwadi Party chief and Lok Sabha MP from Kannauj Akhilesh Yadav has also opposed the bill.

The SP chief said in the Lok Sabha, ‘This bill is being presented as a part of very well thought out politics. When there is already a process of being elected democratically, then why is he being nominated. In other religious matters, no one from a non-community comes forward, then what is the justification for including a non-Muslim in the Waqf Board.’

Akhilesh Yadav opposed the bill

Akhilesh Yadav further told the speaker, ‘The truth is that BJP is bringing this bill to appease its few frustrated and dejected supporters. Today, our rights are being cut. Remember, I told you that you are the judge of democracy. I have heard that in this lobby, some of your rights are also being taken away. For that, people will have to fight for you. I oppose this bill.’

‘The Speaker is not just of the opposition, but of the entire House’

Home Minister Amit Shah strongly objected to Akhilesh Yadav’s statement. Shah immediately stood up and told Akhilesh, ‘The rights of the Speaker are not just of the opposition, but of the entire House. You cannot speak in such a vague manner. You are not the guardian of the Speaker’s rights.’

Lalan Singh supported the bill

Union Minister Lallan Singh has supported the Waqf Bill in Parliament. Lallan Singh hit back at the opposition and said that this bill is not anti-Muslim. They talk about the temple, where did the talk of the temple come from. When any institution becomes autocratic, the government will make a law to curb it, for transparency. This is its right. There should be transparency and this bill is for transparency. He said that they talk about minorities, who massacred the Sikhs.
