Yemen has delivered a stark warning to Israel following the latter’s airstrikes on the port city of Al Hudaydah. In retaliation for the attacks, which targeted Houthi rebel sites, Yemen has declared that “Tel Aviv is unsafe”.
The airstrikes, dubbed “Operation Long Arm” by the Israeli military, were conducted solely by Israel without the involvement of the US or UK. The attacks hit several targets, including a weapons depot in the capital Sana’a and an oil refinery in Al Hudaydah, causing significant damage, fatalities, and injuries.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the operation “makes it clear to our enemies that there is no place that the long arm of Israel will not reach”. However, Yemen has vowed to respond effectively to the strikes, with the Houthi group’s council declaring: “We will not falter or back down. We will continue this support, God willing, and there will be more significant hits on our enemy.”

The Houthis have accused Israel of supporting the Saudi-led coalition fighting in Yemen’s civil war. The group has also threatened to target Israel in retaliation for the airstrikes, with the warning that “Tel Aviv is unsafe”.
As tensions escalate between Yemen and Israel, the international community is urged to unite behind Tel Aviv. However, Yemen remains resolute in its stance, vowing to continue supporting the Palestinian people and hitting back at its enemy.
