Delhi Police has arrested five women who are accused of being part of a pickpocket gang at metro stations. These women are so clever that they could steal cash from people’s pockets in a blink of an eye in crowded places. When the police arrested them, they recovered cash worth Rs 1.5 lakh from them.
According to the agency, while giving information about the whole case, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Metro) G Ram Gopal Naik said that a person had lodged a complaint in Nehru Place Metro police station, in which he alleged that on July 26, while he was traveling from Azadpur to Lajpat Nagar Metro (Delhi Metro), some women stole Rs 1.5 lakh from his bag.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Metro) said that after receiving a complaint of money being stolen from the bag, the police started investigating the matter. A team of Delhi Police started regular patrolling at the busiest metro stations and scanned the footage of CCTV cameras to identify the suspects.
After this, Delhi Police raided the Faridpur area of Delhi on the basis of information and arrested five women from the spot. Delhi Police says that these accused include 38-year-old Lakshmi, 40-year-old Savita, 47-year-old Kavita, 50-year-old Kaushalya and 40-year-old Meena. All these women are residents of Anand Parvat area of Delhi. Police has also recovered Rs 1.5 lakh cash from these women.
