Will the rain not stop this time… Scientists are saying scary things, it will have a bad effect on crops

This time the monsoon came on time. There was good rainfall too. But now it is not going away. According to the scientists of the Meteorological Department, due to the formation of a low pressure system, the withdrawal of the monsoon will be late this time. It may go on till the end of September or even beyond that. In such a situation, the crops planted in the summer may be damaged.

Rice, cotton, soybean, maize and pulses are harvested in mid-September. If it rains continuously, harvesting will be difficult. But the next crop that is sown in winter will benefit because moisture will remain in the soil. Like wheat, rapeseed, gram etc. A senior scientist of the Meteorological Department gave this information to the news agency Reuters.

Delay in withdrawal of monsoon in India

A low pressure system is seen forming in the third week of September. Due to which the departure of monsoon will be delayed. India is the world’s second largest producer of wheat, sugar and rice. Due to this weather, there will be problems in the export of agricultural commodities. Monsoon starts in June. It ends by 17 September. But this time it seems to end by mid-October.

Delay in withdrawal of monsoon in India

Monsoon brings 70 percent of the annual water requirement in India. This improves agriculture. Reservoirs get filled. More than half of the farming is dependent on monsoon. It is possible that the rains in September and October may be due to the La-Nina weather system. This will delay the departure of monsoon.

The entire country received 7% more rain in the first week of June. In some states, it was 66% more than the average. This led to flood-like situation. Now if it rains in the third and fourth week of September, it will affect the crops planted in the summer. This is likely to increase the inflation of food items.
