Will Sheikh Hasina go to Finland from India? European country’s statement came on political asylum claim

Finland has no information about the future plans of former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Finland’s Foreign Ministry reacted to reports claiming that she was going to a European country. Finland is being considered as an option for Sheikh Hasina’s asylum, but the ministry here clarified that it has no information about this.

Sheikh Hasina is currently in India, and is staying in a safe house at Hindon Air Base. After the coup in Bangladesh, Hasina came to India and landed at Hindon Base in Ghaziabad. Since then she is staying here but another safe house is being searched for her.

Sheikh Hasina’s son rejects asylum claims

In a conversation with India Today, Sheikh Hasina’s son Sajeeb Wajed denied yesterday that she was going to seek asylum in any country. He denied that she had even approached any country for this. He said that the whole family lives abroad and she can go to any country to meet her grandchildren. He termed the news of her seeking asylum as a rumour.

Claims are also being made to go to Saudi-UAE

On the issue of Sheikh Hasina going to some other country from India to seek asylum, it was being claimed in the Indian media that she has applied for asylum in Britain. However, in the local media report, quoting the Indian media, it is being said that Sheikh Hasina is also considering Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates as options, where she can try to seek asylum.

Sheikh Hasina’s next step is not clear yet

Sheikh Hasina is currently in India but it is not clear whether she will stay in India in future. Reports were also claiming that the US has refused to grant her asylum, but the US has not given any reaction to this. It is being said that former PM Hasina will either go to Finland, or take refuge in Britain and Saudi or UAE. Let us make it clear that nothing is clear about Hasina’s next step.
