Politics of Maharashtra

Maharashtra Congress Legislator: Before the assembly elections, the problems of Congress are going to increase in Maharashtra. It has to take a decision, even if it does not want to, which can prove to be costly for it. The matter is related to the recent Legislative Council elections. In this election, 7 MLAs of the party had cross-voted due to which the MVA candidate lost. In view of this, the party can take a decision to suspend 7 MLAs. They are accused of betraying the party by cross-voting in the Maharashtra Legislative Council elections.

Action will be taken against 7 MLAs

Many Congress leaders of Maharashtra are demanding that these 7 MLAs be suspended. Congress’ Maharashtra in-charge Ramesh Chennithala will hold an important meeting with party MLAs in Mumbai on the 19th. A decision to take action against these 7 MLAs can be taken in the meeting. Actually, Congress party had prepared 30 votes for its candidate Pragya Satav in which she got 25 votes while 5 MLAs did cross voting.

Congress MLAs cross voted

Apart from this, Shiv Sena UBT candidate Milind Narvekar got 5 out of 7 votes, while 2 MLAs did cross voting. In this way, a total of 7 Congress MLAs did cross voting, due to which one candidate of the alliance lost. This defeat was a big blow to the MVA alliance, which was making exaggerated claims of its victory in the election. The alliance leaders claimed that the MLAs of Mahayuti would do cross voting and NDA would get a shock. But when the results came, the picture was completely changed.

Mahayuti won 9 seats

All the candidates of NDA parties won in Maharashtra MLC elections. Congress suffered a setback once again due to which the opposition party could win only two seats. The Bharatiya Janata Party-led Mahayuti alliance strengthened its morale by winning nine out of 11 seats in the Maharashtra Legislative Council elections. The Mahayuti includes BJP, CM Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena and Deputy CM Ajit Pawar’s NCP. This victory was a morale booster for the Mahayuti which suffered a setback in the Lok Sabha elections, which will help it in the upcoming assembly elections.
