Sharad Pawar, On the issue of NCP chief Ajit Pawar’s possible return to Sharad Pawar’s NCP, the veteran leader has said that he will discuss with party colleagues in this regard. Nationalist Congress Party-Sharadchandra Pawar (NCP-SP) chief Sharad Pawar on Wednesday said that the decision on the possible entry of any leader into his party will be a collective one. However, he refused to confirm whether Ajit Pawar would be included in the party if he wants to return.
The decision cannot be taken at a personal level
Sharad Pawar spoke on several issues while talking to reporters in Pune. When reporters specifically asked if there was a place for Ajit Pawar in the NCP-SP, Sharad Pawar said, “Such decisions cannot be taken at the individual level. My colleagues who stood with me during the crisis will be asked first.” Ajit Pawar broke away from the undivided NCP in July 2023 and joined the Eknath Shinde-led state government. He also acquired the party’s name and election symbol. There has been speculation of turmoil in his camp since the Ajit Pawar-led NCP lost three out of four seats in the Lok Sabha elections.
Sharad Pawar’s sarcasm on the government
At the same time, Sharad Pawar said that after the setback in Maharashtra in the recent Lok Sabha elections, the Mahayuti government was forced to think about the welfare of ‘brothers and sisters’ by starting new schemes. Talking to reporters, Pawar expressed concern over the financial condition, citing the debt burden on the state. The Shiv Sena-led Mahayuti government has started ‘Mazhi Ladki Behan Yojana’ in the state, which promises financial assistance of Rs 1,500 per month to eligible women and there is a plan to provide employment training and honorarium under the possible name ‘Ladka Bhau’.
Now focus on the well-being of brothers and sisters
Pawar said that Jayant Patil and Ajit Pawar got the opportunity to present the state budget many times but such schemes for sisters and brothers were never seen in their budget. He quipped, it is commendable that attention is being paid to the welfare of brothers and sisters but this magic is of the votes received in the Lok Sabha elections. If the voters cast their votes wisely, then sisters, brothers and everyone else will be remembered.
