Why was the bulldozer not run on the houses of the accused in the IIT-BHU gang rape case? UP police gave this answer

On Monday, the Supreme Court made a strong comment on the government’s bulldozer action. The court raised questions on the action of the government and administration and said that even if a person is guilty, his house cannot be demolished. The opposition has often accused the BJP government that the bulldozer action is soft on the accused associated with its party as compared to others.

Something similar is also seen in Varanasi, where about 1 year ago a B.Tech second year student of IIT-BHU was gang-raped. Three officials of BJP IT cell were accused in this. About 2 months after the incident on 22 August last year, all three accused were arrested. But in the meantime or even after the arrest, their houses were not bulldozed.

Once again the matter is gaining momentum

Just a few days ago, the High Court granted bail to the other two accused except Saksham Patel. While the bail plea of Saksham Patel is yet to be heard on September 16, due to which this matter is once again gaining momentum. Why did this happen and why was the bulldozer action not taken on the houses of the three accused of BJP IT cell Kunal Pandey, Abhishek Chauhan alias Anand and Saksham Patel?

What did the police say?

Regarding this, DCP Gaurav Banswal of Kashi Zone, Varanasi, said that three accused were arrested in this case last year and while presenting the charge sheet, action was also taken against them under the Gangster Act. Two of the three accused have also got bail from the High Court last week. The police is taking the strictest action.

Why was bulldozer action not taken?

On the question of not taking action of bulldozer from the time of the incident till the time of arrest, DCP Bansal said that his location was being continuously traced and efforts were also being made for his arrest. Strictest action was taken as soon as the arrest was made. He said that the action of bulldozer is a civil matter in which action is taken by the administration against illegal construction. There is no action like bulldozer in the jurisdiction of police.
