‘Why didn’t you get married…’, fed up with this question, a man became a murderer and killed his neighbour

There are many formal questions in our conversation which we unknowingly ask each other, like in the beginning of acquaintance with a stranger in a train, we ask his name, job, city and whether he is married or not. Every person must have faced this question somewhere in office, train or life. If the answer to this question is ‘yes’, then the conversation progresses further; if it is ‘no’, then the question remains ‘why are you not married’.

Can you imagine a person who gets so upset and angry with this question that he even kills the person who asks the question. A similar shocking case has come to light in Indonesia, which has become a topic of discussion on social media.

According to the Straits Times report, a shocking incident took place on the night of July 29 in Indonesia’s South Tapanuli province, which shocked the locals. 45-year-old Parlindungan Siregar brutally murdered his 60-year-old neighbor Asgim Irianto. The reason for the incident was so common that no one could even imagine – a simple question ‘Why are you not married’.

At around 8 pm on July 29, Parlindungan Siregar arrived at Asgim Irianto’s house with a piece of wood in his hand. He attacked Asgim without warning. Asgim fled into the street due to this unexpected attack, but Parlindungan chased him and hit him hard on the head. This attack took Asgim’s life.

The man was fed up with the question of marriage

During interrogation, Parlindungan revealed that he was annoyed by Asgim’s repeated questions about marriage. He did not like this joke and decided to kill Asgim. The police investigating the case said that the reason behind this brutal attack was Asgim’s repeated joking questions to Parlindungan about why he is not married yet.
