Why are PM Modi, CM and ministers becoming members of BJP once again?

Bharatiya Janata Party is going to launch its membership campaign across the country. It will start with the membership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Party’s national president Jagat Prakash Nadda will get Prime Minister Narendra Modi enrolled in the party. Apart from this, many big leaders will join the party again, like Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will also join the party.

In such a situation, the question is that the senior leaders of the party have been in the party for a long time, yet why are they becoming members of the party again. So let us know about that rule of BJP, due to which all the leaders have to become members again and again.

Why are leaders becoming members again?

Due to all the leaders of BJP becoming members, there are some rules of the party. Actually, BJP works according to different periods. Generally, this period is of 6 years. But, the National Working Committee of BJP decides the time to start and end this period. Whenever this period ends and a new period begins, all the workers of BJP become members of the party. Now due to the start of a new period, members of the party are being made again.

Who can become a member?

According to the information given in the constitution of BJP, any person aged 18 years or above can become a member of the party. But, the condition is that the person should not be a member of any other party. This membership lasts for a period and the membership will end with death, resignation and expulsion. The person who works in the party at any place will become a member of the party at the same place.

One is an active member

Apart from the general member, BJP also has a provision for an active member. These are different from the general members and are those members who continuously participate in party programs. According to Section 12 of the party, a person is considered an active member of the party who has been a member of the party for at least 3 years. To become a member, one has to apply at the district office along with giving Rs 100 to the party fund and if the party rejects the application to become an active member, then the member will not get the Rs 100 back.

These members also subscribe to the party magazine of the state or centre and they have to participate in the agitational programmes of the party. Only after becoming an active member, a member will be entitled to contest the election of Mandal Committee or any committee or council above it. Every party official or leader has to become an active member from time to time and he can become an active member only at the district level.
