Delhi Police has sent a notice to MCD regarding the Rouse IAS coaching accident in Old Rajendra Nagar, Delhi. Delhi Police has asked which officer is responsible for the drainage system in Old Rajendra Nagar area. The notice also asks who looks after the cleaning work in the area? Was anyone given work on contract in the area? Delhi Police has sought documents related to this from MCD.
The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) is taking several actions to stop illegal operations in various properties. The MCD has sealed a total of 4 properties till 4 pm on Monday, where 14 coaching institutes or offices were running illegally in basements. The process of sealing 4 other properties is underway due to similar violations.

Notice sent to library and gym
Show cause notices have been issued to 6 basements with libraries or gyms in South Patel Nagar and Ranjit Nagar for operating without proper permission. On the other hand, illegal encroachments, especially ramps in front of coaching centres, are being demolished with the help of JCB machines since Monday morning. Two officials have also been suspended or dismissed from their posts for negligence in monitoring these illegal activities.
The basement library suddenly filled with water
After the Rajendra Nagar coaching incident, MCD is investigating the libraries, gyms or offices running in basements. Wherever illegal operations are detected, MCD authorities are taking action and sealing them. Yesterday, many students were studying in the library located in the basement of Rouse IAS coaching centre, but due to heavy rains, the drain and rain water suddenly filled up here.
Three students lost their lives in the accident
Due to sudden flooding of water in the basement, many students were able to escape and save their lives, but Delhi Police has clarified that three students died in the accident. After this accident, special action is being taken on basement activities and illegal activities are being sealed.
