Vidyut Ranjan Sharangi becomes the new Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court
Chief Justice of Jharkhand: Justice Bidyut Ranjan Sharangi has been appointed as the new Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court. The President has approved this on the recommendation of the Supreme Court Collegium. He is currently a Justice of Odisha High Court. Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal has given this information on social media.
Who is Justice Vidyut Ranjan Sarangi?
Justice Sarangi has a long experience of 27 years in practicing law and as a judge. He was appointed as a Justice of the Odisha High Court on June 20, 2013. Prior to this, he has practiced as an advocate in the Odisha High Court and the Supreme Court. Justice Sarangi was born on July 20, 1962 in Pantikhari Sasan village of Nayagarh district of Odisha.
Sanjay Kumar Mishra, the Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court, retired about seven months ago. After that, on December 29, 2023, Justice S. Chandrashekhar was made the acting Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court. Now he has been transferred to Rajasthan High Court.
