Meanwhile, opposition parties in Kolkata are cornering Mamata Banerjee’s government. At the same time, the series of allegations and counter-allegations between TMC and BJP continues.
But amidst all this, a video is going viral on social media which has sparked a political controversy between BJP and TMC.
Dance video goes viral during protest
A video of a girl dancing during a protest organised against a rape and murder case in Kolkata has surfaced. This video is rapidly going viral. Trinamool Congress has alleged that this video is of a protest organised by BJP. They have also accused BJP of downplaying this protest.
While BJP denied having any connection with this video. They called it Trinamool’s propaganda, which was done to weaken the public protest against Mamata Banerjee.
TMC MP Saket Gokhale shared this video on his ex handle. He also alleged that this video is related to the protest organized by BJP in Bengal. He said that is this BJP’s thinking of respecting women? Saket Gokhale further wrote on his ex handle that BJP hijacked the protest for political agenda, while there is no concern for the victim or any woman.

Responding to TMC’s allegations, West Bengal BJP said this is what happens when Mamata Banerjee sends people to Rajya Sabha who cannot read Bengali. BJP claimed that the video shows a ‘puja pandal’ in the backdrop and has no connection with BJP. They accused Saket Gokhale of spreading such videos which is an insult to the memory of the victim. Terming it a ‘TMC toolkit’ to weaken the public protest against Mamata Banerjee.
