While taking bribe, Patwari saw Lokayukta team and ran in the field, got covered in mud and was caught

In Shajapur, Madhya Pradesh, Lokayukta police has arrested a Patwari red handed while accepting bribe. As soon as the Patwari took bribe from the complainant and saw the Lokayukta team in front of him, he ran into a water filled field. Lokayukta DSP also ran after the Patwari and caught him soaked in mud. A case has been registered against the Patwari under the Corruption Act.

Lokayukta Superintendent of Police Basant Srivastava said, Prem Singh Gurjar, a resident of Harangaon village in Shajapur district, had filed a complaint. He said that his father Shankar Singh Gurjar and uncle Bhagwan Singh Gurjar have 13 hectares of agricultural land in their names, for the division of which an application was given to the village Patwari Shahid Shah.

For this, the Patwari first demanded a bribe of 80 thousand rupees and when the complainant’s family said that the amount was too much, the Patwari started demanding 45 thousand rupees. On the demand of bribe, the complainant Prem Singh complained to the Lokayukta police.

After this, Lokayukta police laid a trap and made the complainant talk to the Patwari. It was decided that the 5 thousand rupees would be given to the Patwari on Monday. As per this plan, on Monday, the complainant was given the chemical coated currency notes in his hand and sent to the Patwari’s private office, where the Patwari took the colour coated currency notes in his hand.

Meanwhile, on seeing the Lokayukta team already present in civil dress, the Patwari started running. But the Patwari who took the bribe was caught and brought from the field filled with water.

A case was registered against the accused under the Corruption Act and he was arrested.
