Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury : There are no permanent enemies and friends in politics. Everything depends on the situation. If there is a hope of political gain from the situation, then the person who has been on good terms with someone in politics starts appearing as a friend. There is a race to pull him into one’s camp. Yes, we are talking about Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary. Both the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Trinamool Congress are desperate to include Adhir in their party. Both the parties want Adhir to join them.

After losing the Lok Sabha elections, his stature diminished

In fact, after losing his Berhampur seat in the Lok Sabha elections, Adhir has found himself isolated in the party. The pain of his declining stature in the party is reflected in his statements. Experts believe that in the coming time, Adhir can decide about his next destination. He is looking for the right opportunity and the right time. In fact, he is saddened by the fact that he has lost the post of West Bengal Congress, but he is more saddened by the way he was removed from this post. It is being told that his removal from the post of state president is because of TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee. Clipping his wings is an exercise by the Congress to please Mamata.

Adhir is a staunch opponent of Mamata

Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury has been a staunch opponent of TMC and Mamata Banerjee in Bengal. He never missed a chance to attack Mamata Banerjee and her government. Not only this, he often went two steps ahead of BJP in cornering Mamata government on law and order. He even demanded imposition of President’s rule in the state on the Sandeshkhali incident. His sharp attack on TMC continued even during the period when talks were going on with Mamata’s party Congress on seat sharing. It is said that because of Adhir, the seat sharing talks between Congress and TMC in Bengal did not work out and Mamata moved forward on the path of Ekla Chalo Re in Bengal.

Congress is keeping distance from Adhir

In politics, the biggest achievement of a leader’s success is considered to be his victory. Adhir is not able to meet this test at this time. Since, in terms of political gains and losses, Congress is considering closeness to Mamata more beneficial, hence it is also keeping distance from Adhir. This is troubling Adhir. Everyone knows that Adhir has played a big role in keeping Congress a political force in Bengal. He has been continuously elected MP since 1999. Seeing his fighting spirit and his aggressive attitude against BJP, Congress also made him its leader in the Lok Sabha in 2019. Before the 2021 assembly elections, he was made the president of Bengal. But everything changed as soon as he lost the election. Adhir’s one defeat has cost him a lot.

trying to entice

After the question mark on Adhir’s political future, the tone of both TMC and BJP has changed. Adhir is now looking good to them. Both the parties want to pull him towards themselves. Trinamool MLA Apurba Sarkar said- ‘Anyone can join our party with good intentions. What Adhir Babu will do is up to him to decide.’ BJP is also not behind, it is also preparing the ground for him. Bengal BJP spokesperson Shamik Bhattacharya has said that we have been saying from the beginning that Adhir is the right political personality but is in the wrong party. Union Minister Ramdas Athawale has even invited him to join BJP or his party.

However, efforts are on to bring this big face of Bengal with them. Everyone is waiting to see how long Adhir’s patience lasts and what his next step will be.
