PM Narendra Modi on Indian Economy

Narendra Modi, Prime Minister.

Mumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said that India will soon become the third largest economy. He was speaking after inaugurating INS Tower, the secretariat of the Indian Newspaper Society (INS) at Bandra-Kurla Complex in Mumbai. Modi also mentioned how India has become a leader in digital payments.

What did PM Modi say on digital transactions?

Modi said, “There was a time when some leaders used to say that digital transactions are not for India. They had this preconceived notion that modern technology cannot work in this country.” The Prime Minister said, “However, the world is seeing the capabilities of the people of the country. Today India is creating new records in digital transactions. India’s UPI and modern digital public infrastructure have made people’s lives easier and it has become easier for them to send money from one country to another.”

Modi said this big thing for the media

Modi said the country will benefit from the effective work done by the Indian Newspaper Society. “Media makes people aware of their strength,” he said. He also said the natural role of media is to initiate discussions. “Before 2014 most people were unaware of the word startup, but media has made it reach every household,” Modi said.

He said that all of you from the media play an important role in changing the circumstances and giving direction to the country. Today India is in such a period when its journey of the next 25 years is very important. For India to become developed in these 25 years, the role of newspapers and magazines is equally big.
