When will by-elections be held on 10 seats in UP? Election Commission may announce the dates shortly

The Election Commission is going to hold an important press conference shortly in which the schedule for the assembly elections of Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana will be announced. The Commission had visited both the states a few days ago. While elections will be held in Jammu and Kashmir after 10 years, elections in Haryana will be held as per the scheduled time. During this time, the Commission can also announce the schedule for the proposed by-elections in some states, including Uttar Pradesh.

By-elections are to be held for 10 assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh, it is expected that the Election Commission may announce the date of these by-elections today. This by-election for 10 seats is considered important for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Out of the 10 vacant seats, five were with the SP – Sisamau, Katehari, Karhal, Milkipur and Kundarki. Whereas, Phulpur, Ghaziabad, Majhawan and Khair were with the BJP. The Meerapur seat was with the BJP’s ally Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD).

1- Ghaziabad: BJP MLA Dr. Atul Garg has won the Ghaziabad Lok Sabha seat.
2- Majhawan: from Manjhawa Nishad Party MLA Dr. Vinod Kumar Bind has won the Bhadohi Lok Sabha seat on a BJP ticket.
3-Mirapur: RLD MLA from Meerapur, Chandan Chauhan has become MP from Bijnor.
4, Milkipur: Samajwadi Party MLA from Milkipur, Ayodhya, Avdhesh Prasad has become MP from Faizabad seat.
5, Karhal: Karhal MLA and Leader of Opposition Akhilesh Yadav has won the Lok Sabha elections from Kannauj.
6- Katehari: SP MLA from Katehari, Lalji Verma has won the Lok Sabha election from Ambedkar Nagar.
7, Kundarki: Kundarki MLA Ziaur Rahman Barq has won the Lok Sabha election from Sambhal
8, Phulpur: The local BJP MLA Praveen Patel has won the Phulpur Lok Sabha seat.
9, well: BJP MLA from Aligarh’s Khair seat and state government minister Anoop Pradhan Valmiki has won the election from Hathras Lok Sabha seat.
10 -Sisamau: The seat has fallen vacant due to cancellation of membership of SP’s Irfan Solanki after he was sentenced to jail in a criminal case.

Karhal- Akhilesh Yadav was an MLA from Karhal, now he is an MP from Kannauj. Akhilesh Yadav is preparing to field his nephew Tej Pratap.

Milkipur- Milkipur assembly seat of Ayodhya is such a seat where Awadhesh Prasad has been an MLA for 9 times. And this time he has become an MP. Samajwadi Party can field his son Ajit Prasad and this seat can be one of the difficult seats for BJP.

Sisamau- Sisamau seat of Kanpur has fallen vacant due to the conviction of Samajwadi Party MLA Irfan Solanki. This is one of the strong seats of Samajwadi Party, where this time SP can give ticket to someone from Irfan Solanki’s family. At the same time, people’s sympathy is also seen with Irfan, in such a situation this seat is one of the difficult seats for BJP.

Kunarki- Kundarki seat of Moradabad comes under Sambhal Lok Sabha seat, but due to Muslim majority, this seat is considered a stronghold of Samajwadi Party. Ziaur Rahman Warq was MLA from here, who has won the MP seat from Sambhal this time. In such a situation, it is very difficult for BJP to win this seat which has 60 percent Muslim majority.

Kathari- Kathari is a seat in Ambedkar Nagar, from where senior Samajwadi Party leader and MLA Lalji Verma was an MLA and this time he became a SP MP from Ambedkar Nagar. Before joining SP in the last election, Lalji Verma was one of the big leaders of BSP. Now Lalji Verma wants to field his daughter Chhaya Verma from here and this seat is also one of the difficult seats for BJP.

Mirapur- It is not easy for BJP to win Muzaffarnagar’s Meerapur. In 2022, the RLD, SP alliance won this seat, Chandan Chauhan, who became MLA by winning in the alliance of SP and RLD, has become MP from Bijnor this time from BJP-RLD alliance, but this seat is not easy for BJP due to Muslim majority.

Phulpur- BJP had won from Phulpur assembly in 2022, from where Praveen Patel was elected MLA, but this time BJP made Praveen Patel win the MP seat from Phulpur, but Praveen Patel lost from the Phulpur assembly.
