A video from Firozabad district of UP is going viral on social media, in which SHO Ranjana Gupta is seen carrying the injured female sub-inspector Preeti Rai in her lap and taking her inside the hospital. It was claimed that the female SHO had to do this because of non-availability of stretcher in the hospital. However, now the police has given clarification regarding this. The police has denied the claim being made on social media and has told its truth.
Firozabad SP issued a statement in the case and said that on July 28, Sub Inspector Preeti Rai posted in Mahila Thana was going on her scooter when she collided with a car. Preeti Rai got injured in this collision. Mahila Thana in-charge Ranjana Gupta immediately reached the spot and took the injured Sub Inspector to the local hospital (trauma center). CO City also reached the spot. Since the situation was such, without any delay, Thana in-charge Ranjana Gupta took Sub Inspector Preeti Rai in her lap and took her inside the hospital and got her admitted.
After treatment in the hospital, Sub Inspector Preeti Rai was discharged by evening. She is completely healthy. At the same time, we appreciate the promptness shown by Mahila Thana in-charge Ranjana Gupta in this case. We have no information about whether a stretcher was available in the hospital or not.
In this incident, Shikohabad resident Anil Kumar, who was travelling in the car, was also injured. Anil says that while trying to save his scooter, the car climbed onto the divider, in which his mother Ramadevi and son Manish were also injured. They were also admitted to the trauma centre and were discharged after 4 hours.
