In such a situation, the media had asked Shah Rukh that Kolkata is no longer safe for women. To this, the superstar had replied, ‘This is a very personal matter. You cannot choose one city because it becomes very easy to blame the system. As far as the safety of women is concerned, the whole country, in fact the whole world, is facing problems.’
Shahrukh further said, ‘We can always say that this is a sad thing. But I believe that young people, and I understand that I am young, we should change the way we raise our children at home. The problem is in the thinking in which we do not make our boys polite, good and respectful. So I have started doing this.’
The actor also said, ‘When I talk to my son about girls, I don’t discuss girlfriends. I tell him not to break a girl’s heart, treat her with humility and in no way can you watch a woman being raped. If you watch that, your father and mother will never forgive you. So we should start from here.’ This was at the time when Shah Rukh Khan was the ambassador of Kolkata city.

Whatever work they do, they should be respected.’
