‘Whatever happened with Mamta, the same happened…’ RJD taunts Nitish for not attending NITI Aayog meeting, said- ‘He already knew’

Policy Commission Meeting, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee left the Niti Aayog meeting in Delhi on Saturday midway. She has accused the central government of switching off her mic and giving her less time. The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) on Sunday supported the Bengal CM. It also took a dig at Nitish Kumar for not attending the meeting.

RJD spokesperson Mrityunjay Tiwari said, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was already aware of the way Mamta Didi was treated in the Niti Aayog meeting. That is why he did not attend the meeting. This meeting was organised only to formulate BJP’s policy. If the country’s policy had been made, everyone’s importance would have been understood. The opposition is not even being allowed to speak in the meeting. When there is no one to listen to the opposition, then what is the meaning of the Niti Aayog meeting?”

‘Their policies will ruin the country’

RJD spokesperson said, Mamta Banerjee left the meeting midway and showed that the importance of opposition in democracy should not be underestimated. In democracy and constitution, opposition is also a part of the government. If they keep making such policies, they will ruin the country. It is worth mentioning that the central government had called a meeting of the Governing Council of Niti Aayog in Delhi on Saturday. Trinamool Congress supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee, who is part of the opposition ‘India’ block, had also reached this meeting, but she left the meeting midway and walked out. She had accused the central government of discrimination.

‘I was allowed to speak for only 5 minutes’

Mamata Banerjee said, the central government should not discriminate against the state governments. I wanted to speak, but I was allowed to speak for only five minutes. People before me spoke for 10-20 minutes. This is insulting. This is an insult not only to Bengal but to all regional parties. The Bengal CM has also demanded to abolish the NITI Aayog and reinstate the Planning Commission. The governments of Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Telangana, Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu boycotted the NITI Aayog meeting. These states allege that the central government has discriminated against them in the budget.
