The central government said that through this project, 12 cities of 10 states will be made smart according to industrial parameters. For which all kinds of facilities will also be provided. The central government said that these industrial smart cities are being built under the National Industry Development Corridor Program (NIDCP). 10 states will be covered through this scheme. These have been strategically planned along 6 major corridors. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that the government will spend Rs 28,602 crore on these projects.

So much cost, so much investment expected

The Union Cabinet said that under this project, 10 lakh people are expected to get direct employment and 30 lakh people are expected to get indirect employment. That is, a total of 40 lakh people are expected to get employment from this. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that the total cost of the project will be Rs 28,602 crore. It will have an investment potential of Rs 1.52 lakh crore.

Which states will this scheme cover

These industrial areas will be developed in Khurpiya in Uttarakhand, Rajpura-Patiala in Punjab, Dighi in Maharashtra, Palakkad in Kerala, Agra and Prayagraj in UP, Gaya in Bihar, Zaheerabad in Telangana, Orvakal and Kopparthi in Andhra Pradesh as well as Jodhpur-Pali in Rajasthan.

What are its benefits being told

The central government said that this scheme will soon create a grand chain of industrial smart cities on the spine of the Golden Quadrilateral in India. It is being said that the approval of 12 new industrial smart cities is an important milestone in India’s journey to become a global manufacturing power. This will strengthen the infrastructure. Employment will increase and investment will also come. The argument is that it is covering every corner of the country. Therefore, this will lead to the development of the entire country. It is being said that this will enable exports of 2 trillion dollars by 2030.

What facilities will be available in Industrial Smart City?

According to the report, employees will get the facility to live with their families in the Industrial Smart City itself. These areas will be made accessible by railway, air and other transport facilities. There will also be 24-hour electricity and water facility here. Investors will get discounts and single window clearance. Other facilities like gas pipeline will also be available. An industry ecosystem will be created here. It is being said that this plan is likely to be completed by 2027.

Most jobs in Telangana, investment in Maharashtra

According to the information, work is already underway on 8 such industrial cities. Work on allotment of land for industries is underway in 4 cities- Dholera (Gujarat), Auric (Maharashtra), Vikram Udyogpuri (Madhya Pradesh) and Krishnapatnam (Andhra Pradesh). The government is also in the process of building infrastructure in the remaining 4 cities. That means work on such a scheme is going on in a total of 20 cities of the country.

Three infrastructure projects of Railways were also approved
Jamshedpur Purulia Asansol (Third Line – 121 km)
-Approval of 37 km long new double line from Sardega in Sundargarh district to Bhalumuda in Raigarh district
– Approval of 138 km long new line from Bargarh Road to Navapara (Odisha).

Announcement of expansion of Agriculture Infrastructure Fund

The Cabinet also announced the expansion of the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund, which was first launched in 2020 with a budget of Rs 1 lakh crore. The fund is earmarked for post-harvest agriculture infrastructure such as pack houses, cold storage, refrigerated vehicles and primary processing units.

Now the Agriculture Infra Fund has been expanded to include Integrated Secondary Processing and Component A of PM-Kusum Yojana. Now loan guarantee will be provided for these projects. The aim of this initiative is to help farmers to add value to their products and set up agriculture based industries.
