During the monsoon session of Parliament on Friday, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Arvind Sawant raised the issue of Ayushman Yojana and said that many private sector hospitals do not want to come under this scheme. What is the government doing to bring such hospitals under the Ayushman Yojana?

On this, Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Anupriya Patel enumerated the efforts being made by the government to increase the number of empanelled hospitals and said that we constantly try to keep expanding the network of empanelled hospitals. For this, the National Health Authority keeps talking to the state governments and the health authorities of the states.

He said that we have been in constant touch with the association of private hospitals. We try to make them aware through workshops if they are not aware of this scheme. Anupriya Patel said that if they have any questions or doubts, we resolve them. We have also revised the packages that we have made. Now it has reached 49 points. He said that we have also given this flexibility to the states that if you want, you can also customize it according to your needs.

Anupriya Patel said that we also explain our claim settlement process in detail to private hospitals. We make them aware, train them and also add as many as possible. She informed the House that there has been a huge progress in this. When we started this scheme in 2018, the number of empanelled hospitals was about eight thousand. Today it has increased to 29281. Anupriya Patel said that to make Ayushman cards faster, Asha and ANMs are being sent door-to-door under the Ayushman Aapke Dwar program. We have also simplified the rules of Ayushman. Six agencies have also been given responsibility so that these cards are made faster.

Regarding claim settlement, she said that many states which are running separate health insurance schemes also add the beneficiaries of their schemes to it. Anupriya Patel said that as per the set data, we share the claims of the beneficiaries in the ratio of 60:40 with the state. There is no delay from our side in their claim settlement. But sometimes problems do arise regarding additional beneficiaries, whose expenses have to be borne by the state. Whenever such a situation arises, we talk to the state and resolve it. She also said that for this we have started the Green Channel Initiative. For hospitals which have a clean record, we make 50 percent upfront payment.

How safe is the patient data in Ayushman Yojana

TDP MP Prabhakar Reddy raised a question about increasing the coverage of Ayushman Bharat. On this, JP Nadda said that this question is about Aabha ID. Under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, all patients and health records can come on one platform and we can take them. The TDP MP raised a question about the protection of the data collected under this. In response to this, Anupriya Patel said that it follows the Digital Personal Data Protection Act. There is no danger to personal health records.
