What did Kangana Ranaut say about Punjab and the farmers’ protest, which made the BJP distance itself from her?

Kangana Ranaut, BJP MP from Mandi Lok Sabha seat of Himachal, said during an interview recently that if our top leadership was not strong, Punjab would have also been turned into Bangladesh during the farmers’ movement. Raising questions on the farmers’ movement, she said that in the name of the movement, miscreants were spreading violence and rapes and murders were taking place at the protest site. The opposition is constantly attacking Kangana Ranaut’s statement. Congress has demanded action against Kangana under NSA. At the same time, now BJP has also distanced itself from Kangana’s statement and said that this is her personal statement and the party has nothing to do with it.

What did Kangana Ranaut say about the farmers’ movement?

In a media interview, BJP MP Kangana Ranaut said that if our top leadership had been weak, there could have been a situation like Bangladesh in India. Everyone saw what happened during the farmers’ movement. Violence was spread in the name of protest. Rapes were happening there, people were being killed and hanged. Justifying the decision of the central government to withdraw the agricultural laws, Kangana said that when the bill was withdrawn, all the rioters were shocked. Because their planning was very long.

Congress raised questions

Opposition parties have targeted Kangana’s statement. Punjab Congress leader and former minister Raj Kumar Verka has demanded to register an FIR against Kangana Ranaut and take action under NSA. He appealed to the Chief Minister of Punjab and said that Kangana has defamed Punjab and farmers. In such a situation, she should be sent to Dibrugarh jail. Verka said that every day Kangana raises questions on the leaders and farmers of Punjab. Action should be taken against her.

BJP stepped away

Punjab BJP leader Harjit Singh Grewal has called this a personal statement of Kangana. He said, ‘It is not Kangana’s department to speak on farmers. This is Kangana’s personal statement. PM Modi and BJP are farmer friendly. Kangana should not make such statements. She should distance herself from such statements. According to reports, BJP leaders have also complained to the top leadership against this statement of Kangana.
