According to weather forecasting agency Skymet, two low pressure areas have formed at two opposite ends of the country. A low pressure area is located in the deep sea off the Maharashtra coast over the east-central Arabian Sea. Its cyclonic circulation is spread up to the mid-tropospheric level. On the other hand, a low pressure area has been formed over Bangladesh and Gangetic West Bengal for the last 4-5 days.

This is the same system that brought heavy rains in Tripura and caused loss of life and property. However, now this low pressure area has moved from Bangladesh and is over northern West Bengal and neighboring eastern areas. It is going to move westwards through the states of Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh in two days. Apart from this, this system will reach distant parts of Gujarat by the middle of next week and cross the Arabian Sea.
