Weather: Rain wreaks havoc in Gujarat-Andhra Pradesh, no relief yet, IMD issues alert

Rain continues in most states of the country. At the same time, flood-like conditions prevail in many states including Gujarat, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The Meteorological Department has predicted moderate to heavy rains in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and parts of East Gujarat on September 4.

This year, Gujarat has recorded more than 116 percent of the season’s average rainfall so far. Rainfall is still continuing in most districts of the state. In such a situation, the Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rain in Gujarat for the next seven days. In the current situation, due to the activation of four rain systems, a forecast of heavy to very heavy rain has been issued in many districts.

Ahmedabad Meteorological Department Director AK Das said that currently low pressure, shear zone, monsoon trough and cyclonic circulation are present over Gujarat, which will bring heavy rains in the districts of central and south Gujarat in the next two days. Till yesterday, offshore trough was also present over Gujarat, but now it has turned into a low mark. Along with this, the deep depression forming in south Gujarat has also weakened and turned into low pressure. Therefore, a warning has been issued to fishermen not to go to the seashore.

The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for rain in Banaskantha, Bharuch, Surat, Navsari, Valsad, Tapi, Daman, Dadra and Nagar Haveli of Gujarat on September 4. At the same time, a yellow alert has been issued in Kutch, Banaskantha, Patan, Mahesana, Sabarkantha, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Bharuch, Surat, Navsari, Valsad, Tapi, Daman, Dadra and Nagar Haveli on September 5.

Apart from this, a yellow alert has been issued in Amreli, Bhavnagar, Bharuch, Surat, Navsari, Valsad, Tapi, Daman, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Kutch, Banaskantha, Patan, Mahesana and Sabarkantha on September 6. On September 7, a yellow alert has been issued in Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Navsari, Valsad, Tapi, Daman, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, and on September 8 and 9, a yellow alert has been issued in Navsari, Valsad, Tapi, Daman, Dadra and Nagar Haveli.

Let us tell you that rain is continuing in almost all the districts of South Gujarat. According to the report released by the State Emergency Operation Center located in Gandhinagar, the highest rainfall of 12 inches has been recorded in Valia taluka of Bharuch during the last 24 hours. At the same time, more than 10 inches of rain has been recorded in Songadh of Tapi and more than 9 inches of rain has been recorded in Vyara taluka. In the last 24 hours, Dang district received the highest average rainfall of more than 6 inches, while more than 5 inches of rain was recorded in the entire Tapi district.

Let us tell you that till 6 am on 3 September 2024, the total average rainfall of the season in the state has been recorded more than 116 percent. In which the highest rainfall of more than 179 percent has been recorded in Kutch region, followed by more than 125 percent in Saurashtra region and more than 117 percent in South Gujarat region. Apart from this, more than 113 percent rain has been recorded in East-Central Gujarat, while the total average rainfall of the season has been recorded at 95 percent in North Gujarat so far.

Delhi weather condition

According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of moderate to heavy rain in Delhi on September 4 and 5. After that the intensity of rain may decrease. However, humid heat continues in the country’s capital. According to IMD, the maximum temperature of Delhi may remain between 33 to 34 degree Celsius this whole week and the minimum temperature is likely to remain around 24 to 26 degree Celsius.

How will the weather of the country be?

According to weather forecasting agency Skymet, during the next 24 hours, moderate to heavy rain is possible in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and parts of East Gujarat. At the same time, light to moderate rain with heavy rain may occur at some places in Vidarbha, Konkan and Goa, coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Northeast India. Apart from this, light to moderate rain is possible in some parts of Western Himalayas, Punjab, Haryana, Odisha, Rayalaseema, Kerala and Lakshadweep. Light rain is possible in Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
