Weather: Landslides in Himachal-Uttarakhand and floods in Assam, heavy rain alert in these states including UP today

It is raining heavily from the hilly areas of the country to the plains. Somewhere there is flood and somewhere there is devastation due to landslides. In the month of August, many states of the country are in the grip of floods, due to which life is disrupted. The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for heavy rains in Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, UP, Uttarakhand, Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur, Tripura, Assam, Meghalaya and Odisha on August 7.

Talking about the weather of the national capital Delhi, sometimes heavy and sometimes moderate rain is likely to continue. The Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rain in Delhi till August 8. According to IMD, the maximum temperature of Delhi can remain between 31 to 33 degrees Celsius this whole week. While the minimum temperature is likely to remain around 25 to 27 degrees Celsius.

According to weather forecasting agency Skymet, during the next 24 hours, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand may receive light to moderate rains with heavy rains at some places.

At the same time, light to moderate rain is possible in Northeast India, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Tamil Nadu, interior Karnataka, Lakshadweep, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and East Gujarat. Apart from this, light rain may occur in Saurashtra, Kutch and Western Rajasthan.

According to weather forecasting agency Skymet, the depression formed over Pakistan and north-west Rajasthan has moved in the west-north-west direction. The well-formed low pressure area over central parts of Pakistan has weakened. At the same time, the east-west trough at sea level is now passing through the center of the low pressure area formed over central Pakistan and moving towards Agra, Varanasi, Gaya, Jamshedpur, Contai and then in the south-east direction towards the east central Bay of Bengal.

Further, an east-west trough from the above mentioned low pressure area is running up to north Odisha between 0.9 and 5.8 km above mean sea level and bending southwards with height. There is a cyclonic circulation over northeast Assam. An offshore trough at mean sea level runs from south Gujarat to north Kerala coast.
