‘We would have sent Vinesh Phogat to Rajya Sabha if…’, said former Haryana CM Bhupendra Singh Hooda

After being disqualified from the Paris Olympics, the Haryana government has announced to provide all facilities and honors to Vinesh Phogat for winning the silver medal in the Olympics. On the other hand, Congress leader and former Chief Minister Bhupendra Singh Hooda has said that if we had the numbers game, we would have sent Vinesh Phogat to the Rajya Sabha.

Former Haryana CM Hooda said, “We do not have the numbers. Our candidate cannot become a Rajya Sabha MP among 28 MLAs. If we had the numbers, we would have sent Vinesh Phogat to the Rajya Sabha.”

When he was asked what he was expecting from those who had the numbers, Bhupendra Hooda replied that they should know, it is their job. We are talking about our own things.

Indian female wrestler Vinesh Phogat was disqualified in the 50 KG wrestling event at the Paris Olympics for gaining just 100 grams of weight. After this, she appealed to the Court of Aberration for Sport (CAS). Vinesh had said that she should be given a silver medal for this event.
