Wayanad Landslides News Live: 308 deaths so far in Wayanad landslide, bodies continue to be found in destroyed villages and forests for the fourth day

It has been 3 days since the landslide in Wayanad, Kerala, but even today on the fourth day, bodies are still being recovered from the debris. So far 308 people have died in this accident. However, the rescue workers engaged in the rescue have found only 195 bodies so far. The death of the rest of the people has been confirmed from their body parts. That is, some part of the body of 105 people has been recovered, which confirms their death.

Let us tell you that 40 teams of rescue workers along with Army, Navy and Air Force are engaged in rescuing people. To make the rescue operation effective, there is talk of dividing the search area into 6 different parts. The first of these areas is made up of Attamala and Aranmala. The second area is Mundakai, the third area is Punjarimattam, the fourth area is Vellaramala Village Road, the fifth area is GVHSS Vellaramala and the sixth area is the river flow area.

People skilled in swimming in the rescue team

Apart from the three armies, a joint team of NDRF, DSG and MEG is engaged in the search operation. Three local people and one forest department employee will also be included in each team. Apart from this, policemen from 8 police stations around Chaliyar river and people who are experts in swimming are also going to search. Apart from this, search operation is also being carried out through helicopters. Along with the Coast Guard and Navy, forest department employees are also going to search in those places where there is a possibility of bodies floating.

Taking help of dogs in search operation

25 ambulances will be transported to Mundkai through the Bailey bridge built by the army after the accident. A drone-based radar is arriving from Delhi on Saturday to locate the bodies buried in the soil. The help of 6 dogs is also being taken in the search operation. Today, 4 more dogs will be brought from Tamil Nadu.

When did the landslide happen in Wayanad

Let us tell you that the first landslide in Wayanad happened at around 2 am on the morning of July 30. After this, a landslide happened again at around 4.10 am. With this, a landslide happened for the third time. In the landslide, 4 villages of Wayanad turned into a pile of rubble, from which rescue operations are being carried out continuously to evacuate people. With the progress of the rescue operation, the death toll is constantly increasing.
