Wayanad Landslide: A ‘miracle’ amidst the devastation, innocent children rescued alive from the debris

Wayanad landslide children were rescued alive: There is devastation all around due to the landslide after heavy rains in Wayanad, Kerala. Meanwhile, some pictures have emerged which are no less than a miracle. In a daring rescue operation, Kerala Forest Department officials successfully rescued children and families trapped in the forest and debris despite the landslide and bad weather conditions.

A team led by Kalpetta Range Officer Ashik heroically rescued a family, including children, who were stranded without food and water near Attamala in Wayanad.

The team spent nearly four hours traversing rugged terrain using ropes to reach the stranded families. The children were carefully brought back safely from the steep and slippery hills. Adverse weather conditions, including heavy rains, further complicated the rescue operation.

But despite all the challenges, this was made possible. The children coming out safely is no less than a miracle. The children are very scared and frightened. These days were no less than a trauma for them.

‘Congress will build more than 100 houses in Wayanad’

Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Friday described the landslide in Kerala’s Wayanad district as a “horrific tragedy” of such a magnitude in one area that the state has never seen before. He said the incident should be taken in a different way. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said he will raise the issue in Delhi and also with Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan as it is a tragedy of a different level and different actions should be taken. He also promised that the Congress party will build more than 100 houses in Wayanad.

Search and rescue operation still underway in landslide-hit Churlamala

The death toll in the landslide that occurred two days ago in Wayanad, Kerala has risen to 308 while about 200 people are still missing. Search and rescue operations are still going on in the landslide-affected Choorlamalla in Wayanad. According to Kerala Health Minister Veena George, the death toll is currently 308. At the same time, state Revenue Minister K. Rajan said that according to the Wayanad district administration, 27 children and 76 women are also among the dead. He said that more than 225 people have been injured, most of whom are from the worst affected areas of Mundakkai and Choorlamalla.
