Many big revelations have been made after the police investigation in the rape and murder case of a lady doctor in Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College. Police sources say that the accused criminal Sanjay Roy was addicted to watching porn movies while drinking alcohol. He had come inside the hospital several times on the night of the incident. Many revelations have been made in this horrific case on the basis of interrogation of the accused, circumstantial evidence and CCTV footage.
According to sources, at 11 pm on Friday night, the accused Sanjay Roy went to his house behind the hospital to drink alcohol. While drinking there, he started watching porn. There are basically two ways to enter the Chest Medicine Department of the Medical College. One of them was closed, while the back door was open. A total of 5 to 6 people were seen entering from the back door at 4 pm that night. All of them were questioned by the police.

After that it was found that the relatives of many of them were admitted for treatment in the Chest Medicine Department. But the accused Sanjay Roy had no concrete reason to go there. The investigation also revealed that the accused had also tried to tamper with the evidence after committing the crime. The police have found evidence which shows that the accused had tried to wash away the blood stains from the crime scene.
Accused of having perverted mentality, addicted to watching porn
CCTV footage also shows that the accused came out of the seminar room at around 4.45 am. After this, he went to the barrack of the fourth battalion and slept. Police arrested him from the same barrack. He was completely drunk even at the time of arrest. Police sources said that the accused has a perverted mentality. Because the kind of porn movies he used to watch on his mobile are not usually watched by people.
Police waiting for final post mortem report
Kolkata Police is waiting for the final postmortem report of the lady doctor. A police officer said, “We are waiting for the final postmortem report in this case.” Police said that the initial postmortem report indicates that she was murdered after sexual assault and the possibility of suicide has been ruled out. The report also indicated brutality with the victim.
First the doctor was raped and then murdered
The post-mortem report said, “The victim was bleeding from both eyes and mouth. There were injuries on her face. There was also bleeding from her private part. There are also injuries on her stomach, left leg, neck, right hand, finger and lips.” Another police officer said that circumstantial evidence indicates the possibility that the arrested accused first killed the woman doctor and then raped her.
The doctor was sleeping alone in the seminar hall
“There is evidence that the doctor was sleeping alone in the seminar hall of the hospital when she was attacked by the accused. The woman tried to resist but was strangulated to death. To ensure that she was dead, the accused strangulated her again. There is every possibility that the accused raped her after the murder,” the police officer said.
Accused’s shoes found with blood stains
The police probing the case have also seized the clothes and shoes worn by the accused during the crime. Regarding whether anyone else was involved in the crime with him, the officer said, “There is no evidence of this yet. After committing the crime, the accused went back home and washed the clothes he was wearing. During the search at his residence, his shoes were found with blood stains.”
The accused is in 14 days police custody
The body of the female doctor was found in the seminar hall of RG Kar Medical College in North Kolkata on Friday. A case has been registered against the accused under sections 64 (rape) and 103 (murder) of the BNS. After his arrest, he was produced in a Kolkata court, which sent him to police custody till August 23. The police is interrogating him there.
