Was the Kolkata rape case a gang rape? Questions raised by the statement of the doctor who read the postmortem report

The case of rape and murder of a lady doctor in Kolkata has become a topic of discussion in the whole country. Seeing the seriousness of the case, the CBI has taken it in its hands. In this case of brutality, many revelations are being made layer by layer. Now, on the basis of the post-mortem report, a doctor has claimed that more than one accused is involved in this crime.

According to Dr. Suvarna Goswami, Additional General Secretary of All India Government Doctors Association, he has read the postmortem report. The PM report mentions that 151 grams of liquid was found in the private parts of the female doctor. Dr. Goswami claims that such a large quantity cannot be of a single person.

The doctor claims that the report indicates the involvement of many people in this heinous crime. The type of injuries found on the body of the lady doctor and the amount of force used to attack her cannot be the work of a single person. The lady doctor’s family also suspects the role of many people. Dr. Goswami has also refuted the statement of Kolkata Police, which says that there is only one accused.

‘Why was the repair work started?’

In fact, the investigation of this rape and murder case has been under question from the beginning. The protesting doctors allege that the seminar hall was kept open even after such a big incident. The reason given behind this is that repair work was to be done there. But the repair work was to be done in the room next to the seminar hall. There was no CCTV camera inside the seminar hall. This is a kind of negligence. The striking doctors have also raised questions on the construction work in front of the seminar hall.

Why was the seminar hall not sealed?

The protesting doctors say that construction has been started next to the seminar hall to tamper with the evidence. Doctors of Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College Hospital say that the seminar hall of the hospital where this heinous crime was committed should have been sealed. Why was the seminar hall not sealed?

How did suspicion arise in the case?

The team of Aaj Tak’s associate ‘The Lallantop’ spoke to the family of the deceased doctor. A female neighbour of the deceased girl said in the conversation, ‘Around 10:30 pm, my neighbour (mother of the deceased) hugged me, screaming, crying and saying that everything is over. I said what happened? She said that the news has come from the hospital that my daughter has committed suicide. I asked suicide… when, how. She said that this is what the hospital has said. Four of us, me, the girl’s parents and one more friend of ours, reached the hospital. We were made to stand there for three hours.’

The parents kept pleading with folded hands to show their daughter’s face once. But she was not shown. After three hours, the parents were taken to the seminar hall. The father took a photo on his mobile phone and showed it to me. There was blood in her mouth. Her glasses were broken, due to which blood oozed out of her eyes. There was no clothing on the body. Both the legs were at a right angle. One leg was on one side of the bed and the other leg was on the other side of the bed. Unless the pelvic girdle breaks, the legs cannot be like this. She was strangled to death.’ After this cover-up by the hospital administration, the family as well as the people associated with this case started looking at the investigation with suspicion.
