Riots broke out in Britain on Tuesday after Monday’s stabbing incident, in which a large number of police officers were injured. Far-right protesters attacked a mosque in Southport and clashed with the police. 39 police officers were injured in this incident. Three girls were killed in this stabbing incident.

The stabbing incident took place at Hurt Space Studios on Hurt Street in Southport. A peaceful procession was taken out in the city centre to protest the incident, in which more than 1000 people came to pay tribute to the dead girls.

Meanwhile, a group involved in the procession gathered near the city mosque and attacked it with stones, bottles and firecrackers.

Rioters got agitated by rumors

It is being said that the protesters were enraged by the rumour spread on social media that the accused in the stabbing incident on Monday was associated with Islam. However, officials said that the 17-year-old suspected knife attacker, who has been arrested on charges of murder, has no connection with Islam.

Far-right protesters, infuriated by rumours on social media, attacked the mosque on Tuesday. Policemen were also targeted in this attack and a police vehicle was set on fire.

39 police officers were injured in this attack, out of which 27 have been admitted to the hospital. Eight policemen have suffered serious injuries and three police dogs have also been injured.

What did the British leader say?

British Home Minister Yvette Cooper has said about the riot that it was a ‘violent attack by violent people on the streets’.

The Muslim Council of Britain has condemned the incident, linking the attack on the mosque to Islamophobia. The council said, ‘The scenes of far-right rioters wreaking havoc outside the mosque are shocking.’

Meanwhile, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, while talking about taking action against the rioters, has said that they have insulted a community.
