During the Games, Vinesh had confirmed the silver medal by entering the final of the 50kg freestyle wrestling, but she was disqualified just before the medal match because her weight was 100 grams more than before the Olympic gold medal match.

After this, Vinesh filed a case in CAS, on which the decision is to come on August 13. In such a situation, Vinesh Phogat still hopes to get justice. If the decision comes in favor of Vinesh, then they will jointly get the silver medal. But even before this, talk of change in the rule has started coming to the fore.

The rule of wrestlers’ weight may change

Sources have told Aaj Tak that there may be some changes in the weight rules of wrestlers in World Wrestling. The World Wrestling Organization is considering changes to this. However, it has not been revealed yet what changes can be made in this rule.

Now the question also arises that if there are changes in the weight rules, will Vinesh benefit in the case going on in the CAS court? Will this rule be applicable in Vinesh’s case as well? In response to this, sources have told that this is not the case. If there is a change in the rules, it will be applicable from the next tournament. It will not be applicable on Paris Olympics. In such a situation, the changed rule will not affect Vinesh’s case.
