Now that claim has been denied by Vinesh Phogat’s husband Somveer Rathi. Somveer wrote on his X account, ‘Vinesh Phogat has not received any money from the following organizations, businessmen, companies and parties. All of you are our well-wishers, please do not spread false news. This will not only harm us but will also harm social values. This is just a means to gain cheap popularity.’

4 crore from Haryana government

The Haryana government had already said that Vinesh Phogat will be welcomed and felicitated like a medalist. Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini had said that all the honour, rewards and facilities that the government gives to the Olympic silver medalist will be gratefully given to Vinesh Phogat as well. According to the Haryana government’s sports policy, a silver medalist gets four crore rupees, which means Vinesh will also get the same amount.
