Vinesh Phogat India Returns: Vinesh Phogat is returning to the country today… Preparations for welcome from airport to village

Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat performed brilliantly in the Paris Olympics 2024. Vinesh reached the final of the 50 kg wrestling event. However, before the final, her weight was found to be 100 grams more, due to which she was disqualified. Vinesh Phogat appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) against her disqualification and demanded that she be given a joint silver medal. However, CAS rejected the appeal of star wrestler Vinesh Phogat.

Now wrestler Vinesh Phogat is returning home today (17 August). Vinesh’s flight will land at Indira Gandhi Airport in Delhi. Then Vinesh will go from Delhi to her village Balali. Preparations have been made to welcome Vinesh from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi Airport to her village Balali for her return home. The villagers are very excited to welcome Vinesh.

Vinesh’s brother Harvinder said about Vinesh, ‘Vinesh is returning to the country. People have come to Delhi airport to welcome her. People are also waiting to welcome her in our village. People are excited to meet Vinesh and cheer her up.’

Many dishes including laddus are being prepared in Balali village to welcome Vinesh. A program is to be organized in the village’s sports stadium in Vinesh’s honor. Vinesh’s mother Premlata Phogat said, ‘We are happy, the whole country is praising her a lot. My daughter has performed well for the country. She was a contender for the gold medal this time. The whole village is waiting to praise and welcome her. Relatives are making laddus.’

India won a total of six medals including one silver and five bronze medals in the Paris Olympics. India got its first medal in shooting, when Manu Bhaker won bronze in the women’s 10 meter air pistol. Then the second bronze was also won by Manu Bhaker in the mixed team event. Sarabjot Singh was also in the team with her. The third bronze medal was won by Swapnil Kusale in the men’s 50 meter rifle three position shooting. Then the men’s hockey team won bronze and javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra won the silver medal. After this, wrestler Aman Sehrawat won bronze in men’s 57 kg freestyle.
