Varanasi: Criminal appeared in court, opened the handcuffs, pushed the constable and escaped

A shocking incident has come to light from Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh. Due to the negligence of the police, a criminal who had come to appear in court escaped by breaking the handcuffs. The incident of the criminal escaping was captured in the CCTV camera installed in the court. Now the police of 15 police stations have started trying to catch the absconding criminal. Checking campaigns are being conducted at various places.

Let us tell you, on 26th August, Ambrish Kumar Singh of Ramnagar had lodged an FIR against 23 year old Mahfooz son of Sirajuddin, resident of Kudi, Baragaon. It was alleged that Mahfooz had stolen his mobile and gold chain. After which Mahfooz was arrested.

The miscreant who came to appear in court escaped by breaking the handcuffs

After the arrest, constable Sudhakar Singh brought him to Varanasi court for production. He was to be presented before Vartika Shubhanand in ACJM court. Even after 24 hours of the incident, the police have not been able to catch the absconding criminal.

The police formed a team to catch the absconding miscreant

The constable had reached court number 7 with the criminal. But Mahfooz kept trying to remove his handcuffs under the towel and as soon as he entered the court gate, he succeeded in opening the handcuffs. After this, he pushed constable Sudhakar Singh and escaped. After this incident, the officers also interrogated constable Sudhakar Singh but no action was taken against him. Force has also been deployed at the accused’s house in Baragaon and the close ones of the absconding criminal are also being monitored.
