is missing Oregon After the nurse, Melissa Juben, 32, was found dead, her neighbor has been arrested and charged with her murder, local police said Saturday.
Jubene, a nurse at St. Vincent’s Hospital Portland She was reported missing earlier this week after a welfare check, when she failed to report for her morning shift on September 4, causing concern among her co-workers, friends and family.
The cardiac nurse was a newlywed who had returned home days before her Hawaiian wedding. Juben married her husband Brian Lantero on August 24 in Haleiwa, Oahu, on the island of Honolulu, as reported by The. New York Post.
According to police updates, a search of her residence was conducted and her absence without communication was deemed “unusual and alarming”, with unsuccessful attempts to contact a nurse throughout the day. Juben’s phone was found to be turned off and “a search of bank and credit card records yielded no new information on his whereabouts.”
After that, Jube was admitted to the National Law enforcement database as a missing person.
Juben’s neighbor, Bryce Schubert, 27, was charged Sept. 7 with second-degree murder and is being held in Washington County Jail in Oregon, according to online booking records.
Schubert worked at Portland Providence Medical Center from September 2022 to October 2023, according to KATU News.

Following a police investigation by Beaverton Police, Schubert was arrested and charged Murder. His dead body has also been found. Police have not yet commented on where his remains were found, what is the cause of death and what is the connection to Schubert.
“As a result of an extensive investigation, it was determined that one of Melissa’s neighbors, 27-year-old Bryce Jonathan Schubert of Beaverton, was involved in her disappearance. Subsequently, Schubert was arrested this evening and charged with Melissa’s murder,” the police said.
“This is an active investigation. While we acknowledge the significant community interest and concern, we must withhold further details to maintain the integrity of the investigation.
“We sincerely thank the community members who assisted in the search for Melissa. Our deepest condolences go out to Melissa’s family, friends and co-workers,” the Beaverton Police Department shared online Saturday.
