UP: Wolf terror in Bahraich, girl and old woman attacked, ate both hands of Mamsu

The terror of wolves in Uttar Pradesh is not coming to an end. These wild wolves are hunting someone or the other every day. The latest case is from Mahsi division of Bahraich district where a two-year-old girl died in the attack of man-eating wolves while a seventy-year-old woman was badly injured.

Reports of sighting of this wild animal are also coming from the neighbouring district Sitapur. Despite all the efforts of the forest department, the wolves could not be controlled.

Regarding this, Bahraich District Magistrate Monika Rani said that this is the eighth death in a wolf attack since July 17. She said that seven children are among those killed in the attacks and about 30 are injured.

The wolf ate both the hands of the girl

According to the news agency, on Sunday, two-year-old Anjali was sleeping with her mother outside her house in Garethi Gurudutt Singh village of Hardi area, when a wolf took her away. Officials said that the mutilated body of the girl was found one kilometer away from the village and the wolf had eaten both her hands.

In the second incident, in Mauja Kotiya village in Barabigha area, 70-year-old Kamla Devi was injured when a wolf entered her house and attacked her early Monday, he said.

He said he was admitted to the district hospital with injuries on his neck, mouth and ear and his condition was stated to be stable. District Magistrate Rani said the administration has already caught four wolves and is working to catch others. However, they remain a problem in more than a hundred villages in the district. The wolves attack a new village every four to five days.

Appeal to people to keep doors closed in the house

DM Monika Rani said, people are being made aware of the situation and have been asked to sleep inside their houses with the doors closed or on the roof. She said that according to the reports, two wolves are attacking but the forest department is gathering information about the exact number.

While locals claimed that the women were attacked by wolves, forest department officials suspect that jackals may also be behind the attacks.
