UP: Two innocent brothers fell into a pit filled with water, while trying to save one, the other also died

Two minor brothers drowned and died after falling into a water-filled pit in Sant Kabir Nagar, Uttar Pradesh. Police said that this accident happened on Sunday in a village in Khalilabad police station area.

According to the news agency, Station House Officer (SHO) Satish Singh said, Subham (9) and his brother Satyam (11) of Jiginna village had left the house to defecate. They fell into a 20 feet deep pit filled with rainwater and died due to drowning.

He said, ‘Some other children present with the two told that Subham had jumped into the pit and started drowning. Seeing this, Satyam also jumped to save his younger brother and he too drowned. The police have sent the bodies for post-mortem and have started investigation.’

Let us tell you that such an incident happened recently in Agra as well. Two youths who had gone to take a bath in the river drowned in the Yamuna river and died. A 17-year-old youth had gone to take a bath in the Yamuna river with his brother and during this he drowned due to going into deep water.

The deceased were identified as Aryan (17) and Banshi (18), residents of Nowshera village in Firozabad district. Aryan and Banshi had come with their uncle Rajesh (40) to visit the Bateshwar temple and attend a feast organised by a local.

He had told that he had gone to take bath in Yamuna river at Panchmukhi Ghat, when he slipped in the deep water. Divers rescued Rajesh safely, but both the brothers drowned in the river.
