UP Police Constable Recruitment Exam: Former SP minister Yasar Shah trapped in paper leak rumor case, action can be taken under these sections

UP Police Constable Exam: A case of spreading rumors of Uttar Pradesh Police Constable Recruitment 2024 exam paper leak has come to light. In this case, the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board has lodged an FIR against 7 people including former SP minister Yasar Shah. The UP Police Recruitment Board has lodged an FIR at Hussainganj police station. It has been said in the FIR that some mischievous elements are spreading rumors that the paper has been leaked on various social media platforms with the aim of unnecessarily tarnishing the purity of this examination. The purpose of these people is to spread false rumors and extort money in exchange for fake papers by deceiving the recruitment candidates.

The board said that this is an attempt to cheat and deceive the candidates and tarnish their future. Yasar Shah is accused of spreading baseless rumors of paper leak. According to the FIR, Samajwadi Party leader and former minister Yasar Shah has posted false and derogatory posts about paper leak from his social media account ‘X’ (earlier Twitter) @yasarshah_sp.

Who is Yasser Shah?

SP leader Yasar Shah, who has been an MLA from Matera assembly seat, is 46 years old. Yasar is the son of former cabinet minister Dr. Waqar Ahmed Shah, a five-time MLA from Bahraich Sadar seat. His mother Rubab Saida, besides being a teacher by profession, has also been the former president of Bahraich District Panchayat and MP from Bahraich Lok Sabha constituency on Samajwadi Party ticket. Yasar Shah has done graduation from Aligarh University and MBA from Lucknow Technical University.

Action can be taken against SP leader under these sections

The FIR states, ‘Yasar Shah S/o Dr. Waqar Ahmed Shah and many others are trying to extort money criminally and tarnish the image of the UP government by creating different groups, accounts, bank details such as QR Code. Their act is likely to have a bad effect on law and order due to the resentment among the candidates. This attempt of theirs is prima facie a punishable offence under Sections 318(4), 336(3), 338 and 340(2) of the Indian Justice Code-2023 and Section 13 of the Uttar Pradesh Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Ordinance-2024. Under the Ordinance-2024, if found guilty in the paper leak, life imprisonment and a fine of Rs one crore will be imposed.

UP STF will also investigate along with the cyber cell

Messages related to the paper leak have been made viral on 11 channels on the Telegram app and a huge amount has been demanded by sending QR codes in exchange for the paper. Apart from the channels running on Telegram @upp paper leak 2024, @PROOF OF STUDENT, @VENOM, fake questions are being made viral from Aditya Tomar’s Telegram account and money is being demanded. UPI IDs of Shoaib Nabi Sofi, Harish Kumar Bhagat, Manu Kumar, Kapil and Siddharth Kumar Gupta are involved in the attempt to collect money by sending fake papers. Apart from this, the QR code of Delight Enterprises firm has also been shared. The police is trying to reach them through bank details. STF has also been deployed along with the cyber cell to investigate this matter thoroughly.

Along with Uttar Pradesh, candidates from 26 states and eight union territories will appear in this exam starting from Friday. According to information, apart from UP, about 6,30,481 candidates from other states will appear in the UP Police Constable Recruitment Exam. Among these, the highest number of candidates, 2,67,296, are from Bihar. After this, 98,400 candidates are from Madhya Pradesh, 97,276 from Rajasthan, 74,767 from Haryana, 42,260 from Delhi, 17,112 from Jharkhand, 14,627 from Uttarakhand, 5512 from West Bengal, 3404 from Punjab and 3151 from Maharashtra.

Let us tell you that for the recruitment of a total of 60,244 posts of Police Constable in Uttar Pradesh in 2024, the examination will be conducted in two shifts on 23, 24, 25, 30 and 31 August 2024. About 2616 candidates will appear in the examination in one shift. Nine static magistrates have been deployed to conduct the examination in a fair manner. The cyber police station has been made the control room of the district. Monitoring is being done with a large number of police force and CCTV cameras. More than 40 lakh candidates have applied for the UP constable recruitment exam.
