UP: Doctor molests minor on pretext of checkup, case registered under POCSO Act

A case of molestation of a minor girl has come to light in a private nursing home in Muzaffarnagar district. It is alleged that the doctor molested the girl on the pretext of checkup in the ward. After the victim’s complaint, the police have registered a case against the accused doctor under the POCSO Act and molestation sections and started investigation. It is being told that the girl had come to get treatment for kidney stone.

According to the information, Dr. Vikas Panwar, the director of nursing home Vijayshree, had admitted the girl for operation on July 17. After the operation, the girl was shifted to the ward. Where the doctor molested her and did obscene acts on the pretext of checkup. On the complaint of the victim’s family, the police have started legal action by registering a case against the accused doctor under the sections of POCSO and molestation. This incident took place at Vijayshree Nursing Home located on Bhopa Road in New Mandi area.

It is being told that after the operation, the condition of the girl deteriorated due to pus in the stitches. After which she was referred to Meerut. When her condition improved, the girl reached Nai Mandi police station with her family and filed a complaint against Dr. Vikas Panwar accusing him of molestation and demanded strict action.

Police registered a case against the accused and started investigation

SP City Satyanarayan Prajapati said that the family of the minor girl has filed a case of molestation against the doctor on the pretext of treatment. This is being investigated in detail, action will be taken according to whatever facts come to light during the investigation. After inspecting the spot, the CCTV footage will be scrutinized. Orders have been given to arrest the accused doctor.
