UP: Corrupt clerk of tehsil arrested red handed while taking bribe of 50 thousand rupees, vigilance team dragged him out

A clerk of Thakurdwara tehsil of Moradabad district of Uttar Pradesh has been arrested while taking a bribe of Rs 50,000. The accused steno was caught red-handed by the Bareilly Vigilance team on Saturday morning. A case of corruption has been registered against the accused in Thakurdwara police station.

According to the information, the vigilance team of Bareilly range was tracing the steno clerk of Thakurdwara SDM for about a week and has succeeded in catching him red handed while taking a bribe of Rs 50,000. It is alleged that the clerk had demanded Rs 50,000 in exchange for getting the work done. The complainant gave the money to the steno, who was counting the bribe money under the table. Immediately after that, the Bareilly vigilance team caught him red handed and dragged him in a vehicle to Thakurdwara police station, where a case was registered against him in the case of corruption. During this time, there was an atmosphere of chaos in the tehsil and everyone was surprised.

A bribe of Rs 1 lakh was demanded from the farmer’s son

Mohit Kumar, son of farmer Sukhveer, a resident of Karanpur village of Thakurdwara area, had complained to Bareilly unit of Vigilance about the demand of bribe by SDM Thakurdwara’s steno Sachin Sharma. After this, on Saturday, the vigilance team arrested the steno red handed while counting the notes from SDM office along with the farmer’s chemical-coated notes.

Inspector Pan Singh of the Vigilance Police Station in Bareilly said that Mohit Kumar is the son of a farmer. He had come to the Vigilance Police Station and complained that a bribe of Rs 1 lakh was being demanded from him by SDM’s steno Sachin Sharma present in Thakurdwara. When the team reached the spot, steno Sachin Sharma was caught taking a bribe of Rs 50 thousand. In which further action is being taken by the Bareilly Vigilance Team.
