While Mohan Yadav said that on the occasion of Kargil Day, our government has decided that Agniveer jawans will be given reservation in the recruitment of police and armed forces.

Targeting the opposition parties, CM Yogi said that Agniveer is a good scheme but the opposition is misleading the people.

Improvements are necessary from time to time: CM Yogi
On the issue of reservation for Agniveer, CM Yogi said, ‘Reforms from time to time are necessary for any country and society to establish new paradigms of progress and prosperity. Many steps have been taken in the last 10 years under the leadership of PM Modi and reforms have been done in every sector to give a respectable place to our economy and establish India as the fifth largest global economy.’

He said, ‘We need to give equal importance to national security. Armed forces have also moved forward with this reform. Today Indian armed forces are equipped with ultra-modern fighter aircraft. Defence manufacturing corridors are being developed in UP and Tamil Nadu. Agniveer Yojana has been taken forward to ensure that our armed forces can move forward at this pace with this reform. There is enthusiasm in the minds of the youth. Under the Agneepath scheme, 10 lakh Agniveers are coming forward to offer their services.’

Targeting the opposition, Yogi Adityanath said, ‘It is their (opposition’s) job to obstruct everything related to reform, progress and prosperity. They do this constantly. The opposition tried to mislead the people on this matter. I think we should move forward on armed forces reform considering national security supreme.’

Decision to reserve 10 percent posts
Recently, the Union Home Ministry had decided to reserve 10 percent posts in the Central Paramilitary Forces for former Agniveers. However, the opposition is attacking this. Many opposition leaders say that if our government comes, we will stop this scheme within 24 hours.
