A tragic incident has come to light from Bhadohi in Uttar Pradesh, where a man had gone to attend the funeral of his elder mother. During that time, lightning struck him and he died on the spot. This happened when he was standing in front of the burning pyre. On receiving the information, the police reached the spot, took the body in their custody and sent it for postmortem. At the same time, two deaths in a family created an uproar among the family members.
This incident is from Derwa Ganga Ghat of Gopiganj Kotwali area. Inspector in-charge Santosh Singh told on phone that Lakhpati Devi, the elder mother of PRD Jawan Jai Prakash, resident of Koilra, had passed away and he had come to Derwa Ganga Ghat with his family for the last rites.
A young man died due to lightning strike
While his elder mother’s funeral pyre was burning at the Ghat, the weather suddenly changed and lightning struck Jai Prakash who was nearby and he fell to the ground. The family members present at the spot took him to the community health center where after examination, the doctors declared him dead.
The accident happened during the last rites at Ganga Ghat
After this, the body was sent for postmortem. The relatives of the deceased said that when the lightning struck, many other people also fell on the ground due to its effect but the rest were not affected by the lightning.
