Ukraine introduced a variant of the long-range Neptune missile, which had shot down a Russian warship… know its power

Ukraine’s new R-360 Neptune missile was used in the Kursk region of Russia. A weapons depot was blown up with this missile. With this, Ukraine presented the new Neptune cruise missile to the world. This missile has also failed the Russian air defense system. This missile had shown its magic in 2022 itself. But it has now been brought in front of everyone.

This missile was developed in the year 2018. It was made by Luch Design Bureau in Kiev. It was an anti-ship missile. Its range was earlier 280-300 kilometers. This missile moves towards the target at a speed of 900 km/hr. This missile can fly at a height of 10 to 300 meters. That is why radars cannot detect it.

Just before coming into the sight of the enemy’s radar, this missile starts flying down three meters. People came to know about the Neptune missile when in April 2022, this missile sank the Russian guided missile cruiser Moskva in the Black Sea. Ukraine wants to increase the range of this missile to 1000 km.

To avoid this missile, Russia has deployed S-400 and Buk-M3 air defense systems at many places in the country. Apart from this, Russia is installing 40 V6MD low-altitude detection towers. These are only 38.8 meters high. These are radars installed to track missiles flying at low altitude.

There is talk of equipping the Buk-M3 division with additional 9S36M radars to catch targets flying at very low altitudes. There is a plan to deploy these in specific buildings and areas. Also, there is talk of deploying R-77-1 missiles in patrolling Sukhoi-30SM/2 multifunctional fighter jets so that areas prone to missile threats can be protected.
