Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced that Ukrainian pilots have started flying F-16 fighter jets for operations within the country. He said that this will be of great help in the war against Russia. Zelensky also encouraged his pilots, who are mastering flying these state-of-the-art jets.
Despite the arrival of the F-16s, Zelensky admitted that Ukraine still lacks enough trained pilots and it is not clear how many more jets Ukraine will get. He hoped that his pilots would strengthen the fight against Russia. However, Russia has also warned Ukraine. Russia says that it will target military bases, especially those places where the F16s will be stationed.

Ukraine will get 60 F16 jets
The Ukrainian President has expressed hope that he will get more F16 jets. For example, America’s allies have provided F16 to Ukraine on the appeal of President Joe Biden. For example, Ukraine is to be given 60 state-of-the-art jets, which will help them fight the war against Russia. Ukraine has received some of these jets.
US President Biden had announced to provide F16 fighter jets to Ukraine in August 2023. However, America is not providing a single jet, rather NATO countries will supply these jets. Belgium, Denmark, Netherlands and Norway had announced to provide F16s to Ukraine.
What will Ukraine do with F16?
Ukraine will use the F16 fighter jet specifically to intercept Russian attacks. For example, Ukraine will use this state-of-the-art jet to destroy Russian missiles and drones, attack enemy air defense systems, and attack Russian military locations and weapons, for which the F16 will use air-to-ground missiles.
