According to Fox News senior strategic analyst and retired four-star general Jack Keane, the U.S. is running on ground not seen since World War II, with those warning that “we are on the way to World War III”.
His comments come amid conflicts in the Middle East and Europe and rising tensions in the Pacific, and echo former President Trump’s warning that the US is “moving into the realm of World War III.”
Keane told Fox Business’ Stewart Vernon that he “doesn’t respond to the candidates’ comments because I don’t want to influence voters,” but said a recent congressional commission on the Biden administration’s national defense strategy said he participated. The threat of another major war is very real.

“What has fundamentally changed from one administration to the next is Russia, China, Iran and North Korea working together, cooperating, coordinating and really helping each other,” he stressed.
“And the fact that they perceive the United States to be weak, and they’re going to take advantage of that, so they’re encouraged by their perception of us.”
Keane also pointed out how the outbreak of conflicts in the Middle East and Europe and increased aggression from China are not aggressive events.
“It is not an isolated event that Europe has had a large-scale war for the first time since World War II, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine,” he said.
[It’s] “A tragedy, or a separate event, that is happening in the Middle East where Iran has employed all their proxies to strangle Israel so that people stop living there and destroy the state of Israel and push the United States out of the region.”
“And President Xi’s aggressiveness has increased dramatically,” he added of the Chinese leader.
Keane reiterated the commission’s conclusion that the US “has not seen a period like this since World War II” and warned of times to come.
“As a result, it is possible that the United States could find itself in conflict with China and, at the same time, Russia and Iran step up their game because they believe the United States cannot.
