Flood water had filled a pit near Majhoa Airport in Nagar police station area of Ara. Three boys drowned in it on Sunday. After the incident, the family of the deceased called 112 and called the police for help. The police team did not reach the spot. After this, angry people created a ruckus in Sadar Hospital. Then the police of the local police station reached the spot and somehow pacified the angry people.
The deceased include Aniket Kumar Pandey, 20, son of Basukinath Pandey, a resident of Devnagar Mohalla in the Nagar police station area, Shubham Kumar, 15, son of Samarendra Singh of the same locality, and Atul Kumar Shukla, 17, son of Arvind Shukla. The police have currently taken all three bodies into their custody and sent them for post-mortem.
It is being told that three friends living in Devnagar locality near Majhoa Airport of Nagar police station area had gone to see the under construction house of one of their friends. A pit had formed due to soil erosion right next to the said house and it was filled with flood water. One of the boys slipped and fell into the pit. Seeing their friend drowning, the other two boys jumped into the pit one by one to save him.

After this, all three died by drowning in the water. As soon as the information of the incident was received, the local people also reached there and somehow pulled out the three boys who had drowned in the water, but by then it was too late and all three boys had died. According to Ashok Kumar Mishra, the neighbor of the deceased, all three youths had gone to take a bath in the flood water. Meanwhile, they died by drowning in a pit filled with flood water.
Arrah Sadar’s in-charge SDO Vikas Kumar, who reached the spot, said that the three children had gone to see the house under construction. Then one of the children slipped and fell into a pit filled with flood water near the boundary of the house. While trying to save him, his two friends also drowned in the water and all three died. The process of giving the assistance amount given by the government to the family of the deceased has been started.
Here, the family members created a lot of ruckus due to the late arrival of the police team of Dial 112. On this, Sadar SDPO Parichay Kumar said that the information given to the police team was about the wrong location. Due to this, the police arrived a little late and the family members became a little angry.
